Itinerary
- We pick them up at 8:00 am then we go to the Sillustani Archaeological Complex, once here we begin a walk of approximately 30 minutes to reach the place and be able to observe the different funerary towers (chullpas) that seem to have taken the Andean plateau for their own storm. There are almost 90 and they extend over an area of 150 hectares. Many of them exceed 12 meters in height and have a larger diameter at the top than at the base. A challenge to the laws of gravity and balance. A detail that makes them unique on the continent. After visiting this magical place, we continue the tour to the colonial town of LAMPA Located 73 km from the city of Puno, also called the pink city, famous for its temple "Santiago Apóstol" which has an exact replica of Michelangelo's Pietà. In this town we also find the only and most beautiful colonial bridge in Calicanto. It is impossible not to fall in love with Lampa at first sight, something inevitable when encountering a town where silence fills almost everything and the pace of life moves slowly. Walking through its lonely streets gives the feeling of having taken a leap in time and having entered a world painted in black and white. It feels like you're walking there at the beginning of the 20th century, when the Lampeños rejected the arrival of the railroad and this decision plunged them into a kind of ostracism, but also saved them from destructive modernity. After appreciating the beauty of its streets and church, we resume the trip to our main destination PUCARA, where we can enjoy a delicious lunch. PUCARA is famous for its lithic museum, pyramidal constructions that formed the city of this culture and for its ceramics, the TORITO DE PUCARA being its most representative figure. The inhabitants of Pucará are renowned artisans (potters) who currently export their crafts abroad not only for the meaning of the pucará bulls but also for the quality of the work. It is common to see a pair of these Bulls on almost all the roofs of mountain houses, which symbolize the protection and prosperity of the family. PUCARA: Located 61 km from the city of Juliaca on the road that takes us to the city of Cusco, this pre-Columbian culture dates back to 500 BC. to 400 AD Also known as MOTHER CULTURE OF THE ALtiplano, this culture gave rise to later cultures. such as Tiahuanaco (today Bolivia) and Inca (Cusco). Having the puma as a totem animal and the sculpture of the DECAPITATOR as characteristics of this culture. After enjoying this entire experience we will be returning to the hotel approximately between 5:30 or 6:00 p.m.
